We are a charity formed to honour the memory of Simon Flynn, an inspirational and much-loved primary school teacher and private tutor who worked in Cheltenham and Gloucester.
We work to advance the education of children living in Gloucestershire, England (primarily) by funding the provision of educational services, equipment, and facilities.
We are currently funding a number of projects at Kingsholm Primary School, Gloucester, where Simon taught.
Simon was born in Cheltenham and attended St Edward’s School and Pates Grammar School, before reading politics, philosophy, and economics at the University of East Anglia. After working in business for ten years, he moved back to Cheltenham and retrained as a teacher, a profession he loved.
He worked at Kingsholm Primary School and then King’s School, both in Gloucester, until 2019. He left to start his own tutoring business, the Cotswold Tutor, which was proving to a huge success until his life was cut short in a tragic paddleboarding accident in 2020.
We set up the Simon Flynn Educational Foundation to honour Simon’s memory by raising money to advance the education of children living in Gloucestershire, England (primarily).
We do this by funding the provision of educational services, equipment, and facilities, aiming to remove barriers to children’s learning and, in doing so, continue the vital work that he so loved.
As we grow, we may consider funding projects for other schools, initially in Gloucestershire.
Please support us in our mission!
